Climate
The climate of the Savanna is very hot and humid. The savanna recieves between 20 and 50 inches of rain per year and rainfall occurs in 6-8 months of the year. Because of all this rain, the rainy seasons of the savanna are very tropical like. Long droughts follow for the rest of the year in which wild fires are common. The temperature during the year doesn't fall below 60oF and usually doesn't get much hotter than 95oF.

Dominant Plant Species
The plants that live in the savanna are highly specialized to survive long periods of drought. They have long roots to reach deep water and some trees' bark is resisent to wild fires. Grasses are very dominant with some shrubs and a few trees, such as the Baobab Tree.

Dominant Animal Species
Animals in the savanna have long legs and wings for long migrations. Also, the ability to run fast allows animals to run away from approaching fires. Common animals are zebras, elephants, lions, jaguars, hyenas, warthogs, giraffes, rhinoceroses, buffaloes, jackals, advarks, birds, and bugs.

Threats to the Savanna
One main threat to the savanna is human activity in this biome. Humans continue using this biome for farming which damages the soil and kills the vegetation there. Climate changes, and changes in the mangement of fire are other threats to the savanna.
